What you'll need.

Live in the UK, be 18+, and have photo ID Required

GOLDEO is currently available to UK residents only. Before you pay, we run a quick identity check through our verification partner. It takes about two minutes.

• A passport (any country) or UK driving licence.
• A phone or laptop with a camera, for a selfie that's matched to your ID photo.
• Your UK home address, entered when you sign up.

The MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal Required

GOLDEO is an expert advisor (EA), so it needs the full desktop version of MetaTrader 5, the platform made by MetaQuotes.

• Windows PC or laptop: the standard choice. Download MT5 from your broker's website (it comes pre-set with their servers) or from metatrader5.com.
• Windows VPS: a small always-on server in the cloud. Recommended, see below.
• Mac: the MetaTrader 5 app for macOS can run expert advisors.
• Keep MT5 updated to the latest build. It updates itself when you restart it.

✗ Not supported: MT5 phone and tablet apps, MT5 WebTrader (in a browser) and MetaTrader 4. None of these can run expert advisors from us.

A live MT5 account at the broker of your choice Required

You choose the broker. GOLDEO trades the account you sign into, and your money and broker login never leave you.

• A real-money (live) account. Demo accounts are not supported: GOLDEO won't trade on them.
• An MetaTrader 5 account (not MT4). Your broker's welcome email tells you which platform and server it's on.
• In your own name, with expert advisors allowed. Almost every MT5 broker allows them, but check if unsure.
• Funded with money you can afford to lose. Any account currency works; your statements use it.
• Up to 2 live accounts per licence: one Growth account and one Current account. You choose which is which in your client area.

Leverage no higher than 1:500 Required

GOLDEO reads your account's leverage every time it checks in. If it's above 1:500, GOLDEO won't open new trades, and the chart tells you why.

• Any leverage up to and including 1:500 is fine: 1:30, 1:100, 1:200, 1:500.
• You'll find your leverage in your broker's client portal, or in MT5 under Navigator › Accounts (hover over your account).
• Most brokers let you change it in their client portal or by asking support. After a change, GOLDEO picks it up at its next check-in.
• UK and EU brokers already limit retail clients to much less than 1:500, so you'll usually be within the limit automatically.

A GOLDEO licence and EA password Required

• A GOLDEO account and the £20 licence. Your download unlocks once payment is confirmed.
• An EA password, set in your client area. It's separate from your website password, and you type it into GOLDEO's settings with your username.

An internet connection and two MT5 settings Required

GOLDEO checks in with our licence server every few minutes. In MT5, under Tools › Options › Expert Advisors:

• Tick Allow algorithmic trading.
• Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL, and add https://goldeo.co.uk.

If GOLDEO can't reach the server for 12 hours, it pauses new trades until it can. Open trades are still managed. The setup guide shows exactly where to click.
